King Tamar - detailed embroidered design inspired by Mihály Zichy’s historic illustration Shota Rustaveli presents his poem to Queen Tamar. The composition depicts Tamar the Great at the Georgian royal court as Shota Rustaveli presents his work before her, surrounded by richly dressed courtiers. A visual reference to The Knight in the Panther’s Skin, Georgia’s Golden Age, medieval Georgian culture, and one of the country’s most important literary and historical figures.
